ANGIE

I started doing CrossFit in 2008, after the first class I was hooked and instantly fell in love with the sport. At that time I was looking for something different in my normal workout routine and I got it. I loved that every day was something different and challenging. At night, I would sit on my phone and hit refresh about 100 times waiting for the WOD to load on the website. One of my favorite parts of CrossFit is the Olympic lifting, I love anything that has to do with a barbell. I did not grow up doing any type of competitive sport, so the fact that I enjoy CrossFit and Olympic lifting so much still feels kind of odd. I look forward to be challenged with each workout and pushed beyond what I think my limit is.

About 6 years ago, my husband and I were asked to be trainers. At first I was very hesitant, I didn’t know if it was something that I could do. To get up in front of people and coach/train them, heck I don’t even like talking in front of large groups of people. I must say it was one of the best decisions that we made, it led us to opening our own gym with amazing people, that I couldn’t imagine not spending each day with.

Why CrossFit? …. I love that every workout is different and challenging in its own way. The feeling of community that CrossFit brings is undeniable. Watching people get to know each other, and then cheer on one another to get through a work out, is one of the most rewarding parts of being a trainer. Seeing people grow through CrossFit is another reason I love it. Watching as someone gets a PR, finally mastering their goat they have been working hard for, or as someone does what they once thought was impossible, that is what CrossFit is all about to me.

Our box has now been open for 3 years and I still love getting to share all that I have learned with each and every one of you and watching as each of you embark on your own CrossFit journey.
